Singer John Holland (above left, with bandmate Jack Donoghue) from the amazing new Chicago goth/electro/juke band Salem is interviewed in our current issue, BUTT #25. The band just finished a fabulous new song titled “Tent” and we think BUTT Blog readers deserve to hear it first! The lyrics are ambiguous but as far as we can tell, its about fuck-buddies, a thug top and his bottom, “a rich mans son”. Heres a lyric sample so you get the idea.
“let me plant my seed where my seed won’t grow…I could get you right in the middle of the night…Smoke it out, let me choke you out, I’ll choke you out till the ghost come out your mouth.”
Here it is: “Tent” by Salem
Enjoy.

I have never heard a sexy song that openly talks about gay sex. This is a breakthrough. Gay musicians never speak about sex directly the way straight rappers do. I find this song so hot.
I think it could only be made now because it could only be made by a generation that has never had any problems with being gay. It’s a cool new macho tone and vocabulary for gay sex . THANK YOU SALEM!!
