Porn is in the air. First we spent many, many hours watching all kinds of porn in order to curate the selection for the Ace Hotel, which premieres this very weekend in Palm Springs. Now BUTT has received eight large boxes of vintage gay porn from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, a small fraction of which is shown above. Very little is known about the original owner of this rather extensive and eclectic collection, except that he was most likely a ballet dancer (several ballet magazines were sprinkled throughout). There are amazing classics like Drummer, Manshots, and Inches, and unusual one-off gems like Southern Cumfort, CR Classics (for those sexy older gentlemen), and one of our favorites, Color Sperma. The generous donor was Steven G. Fullwood, project director at the Black Gay and Lesbian Archive in Harlem. Steven gave us all the literature that wasn’t relevant to his area of expertise: African American LGBT life in the 20th and 21st century. Thank you, Steven!
