In our first full year of the BUTT Blog we featured countless derrieres from around the world each week. Now it’s time to count down the top ten butts that made us drool, got us hard, and most importantly, made us think. Okay, just kidding. We’ve gone through each and every butt we posted and compiled a very arousing list of the hottest asses in 09. Read on to find out if your favorite butt made the list, and then let us know who your favorite is. 10. Oscar Morales, Mexico, 4.1.09

Photographer Oscar Morales knows that a Mexican tanline is the secret to shaping and highlighting the contours of your posterior. After a trip to his local swimming pool, he came home and promptly displayed his rear for all the world to see.

9. Todd, Little Rock, Arkansas, 4.14.09

Photographer Jeffrey calls his composition ‘Southern Ass Under an Abandoned Bridge.’ Students of art will note triangular composition, symmetry, repetition of forms, and no doubt wax poetic about the symbolism of the youth’s exposed sexual point of entry and the abandoned bridge in relation to each other.

8. Pete the Hairdresser, NYC, 10.31.09

For our popular BUTT AFTER HOURS series we photographed Pete, a very butch Scottish hairdresser with one of the thickest, meatiest butts we had yet to see. Ironically, Pete had been to the BUTT office once before for our holiday party, where we snapped a picture of his butt. It wasn’t until he took down his pants for this shot that we realized this. Can you figure out what gave it away?

7. DeShawn, Tuscon, Arizona, 1.12.09

DeShawn’s big, round ass ripened at the age of 14. He has worn a pair of size 34 jeans ever since. He has never done any exercise to shape his rump, except at one point when he go-go danced to put himself through fashion school. At that time, he was homeless, but has since recovered and today regularly welcomes eager tops into his boudoir.

6. Ace Hotel Guest, Palm Springs, 11.09.09

We never caught this gorgeous fellow’s name during our stay in Palm Springs for Gay Pride Weekend, where we unveiled the BUTT-curated lineup of on-demand gay porn for the Ace Hotel. But luckily we have this terrific picture, and many more by Gabe Ayala, who was a master of getting the hottest boys to drop their trunks for the BUTT Blog. Expect to see more from Gabe in 2010.

5. Cesar: BUTT AFTER HOURS, NYC, 5.11.09

Cesar was the first guest for our BUTT AFTER HOURS series. During our interview, we learned that he was given the nickname ‘hungry hole,’ by his co-workers, who were presumably just jealous that they did not possess one of the cutest little furry Latino asses in New York. Unlike DeShawn above, Cesar is a yoga-fiend, which no doubt accounts for his subtle shape. Cesar gets special bonus points for ‘rim-worthiness.’

4. Pericles, NYC, 7.6.09

One of our favorite photos of the year, Pericles, the hottest Cypriot in Brooklyn, poses with a mirror and some red carnations. Check out the first week of September 2010 in the new BUTT CALENDAR to see another terrific picture of Pericles, this time of his front.

3. Tuck Mayo, San Francisco, 6.24.09

Tuck Mayo is the ‘most handsome beefcake FTM heartthrob in the world,’ according to Amos Mac, the editor of Original Plumbing, the excellent new sex zine for FTM hunks. Truth be told we were a little stunned when we received these pictures and interview, having never posted any transmen on our blog. But we made the right choice, and the response to the piece was so overwhelming it led Amos to jumpstart production on his first issue of OP, which made a huge splash in the zine world in late 2009. Tuck makes a hot little cowboy no?

2. All-American BUTTS, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, 11.26.09

Photographed by Bradley Schurman, this photo was so simple and hot that it needed little accompanying text to explain it. The same goes for now.

1. Sissy Nobby and Big Freedia, BUTT BANG!, The Knitting Factory, NYC, 6.19.09

We wanted to pick the most butt-centric performers we could find for our first-ever concert BUTT BANG! in New York City during Gay Pride Weekend, and nobody was more suited to the job than Sissy Nobby and Big Freedia, two of the most popular ’sissy bounce rappers’ in New Orleans. Of course these two phenomenal ladies didn’t actually expose their amazing asses to the crowd at the concert. But the absolutely astonishing way they’re able to shake their butts took the crowd, who had just been mellowed out by the dark-drone-synth music of Salem, from zero to sixty. In all our years of concert-going, we’ve never seen an audience get as frenzied as when these two danced to their hit song ‘Azz Everywhere.’ Without a doubt, they have the number one BEST BUTTS OF 2009. Congratulations ladies!
