27-year-old Liverpudlian singer Alexander Geist has already been compared to Marc Almond in a short but startling career that has made him a cult hit in much of Europe’s underground. He launches his first 7-inch single, ‘Bad Language’, on the Haute Areal label tonight in his new home Berlin. We got our dirty fingers on the track which is streaming in the BUTT player. A quick scroll down past our little chat reveals another treat: fellow Berliner TUSK’s remix of said track for your exclusive downloading pleasure.

gingerpower.
Gorgeous lover.
I’m so into this.
yes i think we need more guys like him!!
is this a demo?
RIP La John Joseph… Alexander Geist is a much better incarnation!
Didn´t expect, but the mix between his ‘Almond-esque’ way to sing and the german touch sounds refreshing to me. Thnx for share!
the triumph of form over substance
agreed
seriously.
I saw alexander geist live and loved it.
The piece opens as Donna Summer´s (R.I.P.) “I Feel Love”. Amd more than Marc Almond, the looks remind Joel Grey in Cabaret. Indeed, that was a Berlin-set story, so there could be some relationship in the whole thing. But yet, nothing much new. Perhaps on stage… who knows?
super
Most important: He’s unfortunately not a good singer :(
Oh God, he isnt’t
LOVE! I saw him back home in Liverpool last year, fabulous!
I love that cheeky attitude :P

I saw him twice at Bistrotheque during his transvestite / cabaret years. He was incredible.
