Who doesn’t like watching a hot DILF roll around in the crashing waves and sand? The clip comes from Todd Verow and Patrick McGuinn’s found footage film, Fire Island ’79, which has its world premiere this Saturday at Mix NYC, the grande dame of gay film festivals.

They compiled the short film using some recently discovered, unprocessed Super 8 films by Chase Hook, a young filmmaker whose films were widely acclaimed in experimental circles.

Formal inventions aside, Chase considered himself a pornographer first and foremost. After he committed suicide on New Year’s Eve in 1979, most of Chase’s work was destroyed by his ultra-conservative family. Just a few home movies (as well as the cassette tape from his answering machine) were all that was left.

Fire Island ’79 screens on Saturday, 16 November at 4 P.M. as part of the ‘Cage in Search of Bird’ program at 521 Third Avenue (between 12th and 13th Streets) in Brooklyn. For more info visit the festival’s comprehensive website.
