This is Neil, a straight bartender and occasional go-go-boy from San Diego, carrying his friend Mushroom. First photographer Paul Gunn wanted to shoot Neil alone, but that drove Mushroom crazy, so Paul included her as part of the scene. As Paul observed: “You learn a lot about people when you meet them and I found that while Neil was a little reserved, he was most himself when he was with his dog. She rules the place.”
