Spend an afternoon with Alexandre, Arthur, Benjamin, Raphael and Thomas along the Canal St Denis on the outskirts of Paris where being nude in public is seemingly no problem whatsoever. Photographer Cyril studied architecture and is interested in the boundary between private and public — what can be seen and what should not be.
The canal, which is used mainly for the loading and offloading of rubble and ready-mix concrete these days, was built under Napoléon. The next time you’re on your way to Paris from Charles de Gaulle, look out for this industrial-sized shortcut of a waterway discharging into the Seine. Both the highway and rail pass over it near the outskirts of the city. You never know who you might run into.
