Not long after he came out, Andrew in Denver started a journal to note every man he’d slept with. One entry dedicated to a firefighter who ‘smelled like Axe body spray’ goes: ‘We kissed in parking lots. We slept in his jeep to avoid his roommates… He didn’t want me to suck his dick’. Huh? The sexual adventures — ‘J. His body was smooth. We jumped off a railroad track into a river’ — are punctuated by minor disappointments: ‘D. Unsatisfying. Sunblock lotion lubricant’.

Andrew’s journal is also interspersed with trippy drawings and watercolors (this was way before legal weed in Colorado, mind you).
