In BUTT 26, über-collector Vince Aletti confided in an interview that he was a great fan of vintage AMG images. AMG, or Athletic Model Guild, was a studio founded by photographer and pornography pioneer Bob Mizer in Los Angeles. Since its launch in 1945 Mizer (who died in 1992) photographed thousands of handsome men, preferably with huge cocks, first in black and white, later in full-on technicolor, often with hilariously camp studio backdrops. For someone like Vince Aletti, who collects lots and lots and lots of gay art and vintage queer publications, to be fond of AMG doesn’t really come as a surprise. What caught our interest though was the fact that he said it’s much harder to come by images of Mizer’s models actually being dressed, rather than the usual cock-and-ass-in-your-face shots. We contacted AMG directly and asked to find these rare species of fully clothed hunks and selected our favorites for you to browse through, complete with a little bio. It might be the first time you’ll actually spend some time looking at these guys’ faces and their amazing fashions, rather than all those juicy dicks and asses (it certainly was for us).
If you’d like to check out AMG in full printed glory, head on down to the bookstores ASAP, if not sooner — there is a new book that just came out: 288 pages full of amazing, re-edited images for your viewing and wanking pleasure.
End.
