Free Your Body Mix by DJ Victor Rodriguez

It’s hard to find a homosocial party around LA that Victor Rodriguez hasn’t had a hand in.... Beige, Cub Scout, Por Detroit, Bears in Space. Since the 80’s, the deejay and super-promoter has brought sweat and sex to warehouse dancefloors across the city. Fresh off mixing at a new gay-island-paradise festival called Somos in Mexico, Victor offers us his “Free Your Body” mix: a huge dose of Vitamin D in late winter, with classic, disco-inflected house beats to warm you up. “It’s such a dark time in the world right now,” he told us. “I felt some uplifting was in order.” We agree!

Jump Split Mix by Ariel Zetina & Miss Twink USA

BUTT is back in the mix! (The mixtape business.) And what better way to start off the new year than with a bang? ...an hour-long sonic gangbang from Ariel Zetina and Del Hale aka Miss Twink USA, whose full-throttle blend of techno and cunt-pop keep it fast and fun. Their b2b at last summer's WHOLE Festival inspired a frenzy of queer ecstasy and definitely some cocksucking on the dancefloor. The title of this mix is inspired by Rumors, their party in Chicago, where queens have been known to dive right off the bar. Colin Murphy sat down with them to talk "Chicago style." We hope you're feeling limber...

POWER DANCE BUTT Mix by Stathis and Luigi

Mix made especially for the launch of BUTT no. 31 at POWER DANCE CLUB in Athens. Resident DJs Stathis and Luigi Di Venere recorded this hit with an end-of-summer vibe. Play it loud!

HO-TOWN MIX BY JEFFREY SFIRE

I have done a pretty good job of keeping the female vocals at bay when it comes to BUTT mixtapes, but I happily let my guard — and hair — down for this final installment from deejay and producer Jeffrey Sfire in Detroit. His most recent Sfire release, Sfire 6/7 (this time without silent partner Samuel Long, who was recently unmasked as Sophie, by the way) came out on Ultramajic last October. His BUTT mixtape is a turned-up mix of sassy party jams and New York freestyle from the techno capital of the world. Divas to the dancefloor, puh-lease!

FUN FUN MIX BY DJS PAREJA

Mariano and Diego, AKA DJs Pareja, are a bit like the Argentine Pet Shop Boys. They've been deejaying and producing their own music since 2004, and after two LPS and six EPs they are still going strong, both as a couple and deejay duo. Their song titles and lyrics are sprinkled with references to old school gay culture. Who else can work in a reference to both Gore Vidal and 'My Own Private Idaho' in one song? Their more dance-floor-ready tracks on Comemé, and more recently Turbo Recordings, are playfully lo-fi with a bit of drum machine fuckery.

CONTACT HIGH MIX BY CHRIS CRUSE

There hasn't been a Spotlight party since May and expectations are sky high. Spotlight (the name of the party a comment on how L.A. nightlife had sadly become all about social media hogging) has quietly charmed the pants off L.A. homos and a cute line-up of international deejay talent, dropping in after hours and staying til sunrise. So hooray that Spotlight's finally switched back on this Saturday, and that for the occasion, resident Chris Cruse has recorded a yummy hour-long mixtape — one, you could say, for the water crowd.

CARLOS DON’T CAMP MIX BY CARLOS SOUFFRONT

Last April, Gays Hate Techno founder Matt Fisher and Carlos Souffront realized their vision to bring all the movers and shakers together for an outdoor techno party a couple hours north of San Francisco at the eco-conscious Groundswell Institute. There were almost thirty different sets over the course of that weekend. With camping and bunks limited to just one hundred spots, and almost as many gatecrashers, you had like one deejay for every six gays in attendance — a bonanza for the jockey sluts! Next weekend, the Honcho crew in Pittsburgh are counting on some more outdoor magic, although with fewer dudes behind the decks and more worshipping in front of the speakers. Honcho's Aaron Clark is the first to give credit where credit is due: 'Matt and Carlos set the tone'. Pitch a tent and enjoy the next installment of BUTT's illustrious mixtape series: the 'Carlos Don't Camp Mix' from Carlos Souffront.

POPPERTUNITIES MIX BY HARRY & JPEG

Last January, Chicago deejay duo Harry & JPEG nailed down what you might call 'the sleazy sound' at that slightly music-snobbish of Brooklyn clubs Output. This Easter, BUTT is thrilled to be bringing them back to New York for an extended, five hour set. For the occasion, they've made the next in a series of BUTT Mixtapes. A tribute to that all-too-brief and intensely horny state under the influence of video head cleaner, the mix begins with a nostalgic nod to truck stop disco, but doesn't take long before it lunges into full-on ravey gayhem. When they're not killin' it at other people's parties, Harry & JPEG play as residents at their own night, Men's Room, which puts Shytown cruise bar heritage and house music front and center.

SOL OSCURO MIX BY JUAN RAMOS

25-year-old deejay Juan Ramos from New Haven, Connecticut grew up in a Puerto Rican household with both parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles listening to salsa music, merengue and Latin jazz. The radio was his close companion as well, and it nurtured his tastes for more bassy and synthetic sounds. Juan's summer vibe mixtape for BUTT mostly straddles the line between house and techno, with just enough congas and cowbells in the mix to make you think you're not just on staycation in Berlin, but also livin' large in the Caribbean.

HEAD HONCHO MIX BY AARON CLARK

29-year-old deejay and promoter Aaron Clark has been helping put on his own club night, Honcho, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2012. For this edition of BUTT's beloved mixtape series, he condensed a typical seven-hour night at Honcho into a stealth one-hour mix. Aaron's sets lean toward the weirder, headier side of American dance music. The sound is a little deep, a little funky, a little acidic before it kind of takes off into outer space and then gets a prettier toward the end of the night. Listen, stream and download below.

BOTTOMS UP MIX BY STAFFAN LINDBERG

26-year-old Staffan Lindberg grew up in Malmö, Sweden but like any young homo who has a bug for clubbing, he'd eventually moved to the big city of Stockholm. He loves Berlin nightlife for its unique combination of music and sound system snobbery, plus there's that enthusiastic crowd of pleasure-focused gays to follow and dance to what's going down on the dancefloor. Staffan created this mix live, so there were no overdubs or edits before we posted it. Staffan also never bothers to listen to mixtapes without playlists, so we've included one below. This Friday night, catch one of his spontaneous sets at the House of BUTT.

4/4 FINGER BANG MIX BY STEREOGAMOUS

When Jonny and Paul met in Sydney one night, they quickly formed a brotherly bond and musical partnership, Stereogamous. Jonny got busy behind the decks, deejaying clubs and saunas, while Paul decamped to the studio. These days, they're quite in-demand for their remixes — they've done them for LCD Soundsystem, as well as George Michael and Kylie Minogue. They've recently put out their first twelve-inch, 'Face Love Anew', with Shytown native Shaun J. Wright. In the run up to their appearance at the House of BUTT party in Berlin, they've crafted a steamy mix of their current favs especially for BUTT readers.

PINK COURTESY PHONE MIX BY RICHARD CHARTIER

Richard Chartier in Washington, D.C. first came to BUTT's attention in BUTT 5 when Matmos told all about a particularly wild night they had with him at some go-go bar in Montreal. In the art world, Richard's known for his highly formal, extremely minimal compositions and installations, like one he made for the Whitney Biennial in 2002; or for his research at the Smithsonian in 2010 which involved snooping around their collection of antique noisemakers. With his Pinkcourtesyphone side-project, you get Richard at his most fun, most sexy. He's definitely the man to put the ass back in Ass-tralwerks for BUTT's first ambient excursion.

MUSIC FOR CUNTS BY DJ MIKE Q

26-year-old Mike Q from New Jersey is resident deejay of Vogue Knights, happening every Tuesday night at Escuelita in Manhattan. There you'll find him doing six-hour sets of mostly his own edits, remixes and original tracks. As head honcho of Qween Beat Productions, he's been making some ultramodern ballroom and house music, all the while playing burgeoning scenes in places like Atlanta and Houston. The fast and nasty tracks — loaded with bitchy vocal samples and repetitive beats — are the perfect complement to the audacious and fierce 'new way' of voguing these days. Madonna would probably break her old back trying to copy one of those girl’s dips.

CREME DE LA CREME MIX BY GRAHAM PEEL

Ah Paris! One can not help get all misty-eyed when taking in the city's illustrious nightlife, especially during men's fashion week when the champagne is flowing so freely. For the occasion, 28-year-old deejay slash producer Graham Peel whipped up a fluffy mix just for BUTT fans. Originally from Glasgow, Graham started his own club night (and blog and record label and band, etc.) because he's just so choosey about what he wants to hear on a night out. Listen to or download the mix and take a stroll through The City of Light...

LIVE FROM THE MEATPACKING DISTRICT WITH RYAN SMITH

For our upcoming CLUB BUTT night in London, 27-year-old Ryan Smith cooked up this bottom heavy mixtape of man-scented tracks from his bedroom in what used to be New York City's notorious gay center, the Meatpacking District. It's as if the leather-clad and street-walking ghosts of his neighborhood's hedonistic past urged him on as he sparked one up and found his way through the mix. Listen, download, etc...

YOU MAKE IT SO HARD MIX BY BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT

Is having your own club night a prerequisite to being a fabulous homosexual these days? At his bi-monthly night in London, called Another Night, Rod Thomas gets a chance to spread his love for nineties dance music. Rod, who also records and performs as Bright Light Bright Light, is such a sweetheart. He crafted this third BUTT mixtape — with some exclusive remixes and utterly pop-tastic bootlegs you won't hear anywhere else — just for you.

COCKRING D’AMORE MIX BY BORIS & DISCODROMO

Boris, and Giacomo and Giovanni (Discodromo), have a knack for men-ergizing a dancefloor with deep, long sets that go 'til dawn. Their cub club night in Berlin, CockTail d’Amore, reappears this weekend at a new riverside location, Chez Jacki. It’s their first night since die Polizei shut down the old venue, St. Georg, two months ago. We’re super-stoked to share the trio’s exclusive Cockring d’Amore Mix.
